FAQ
What devices can I use with TweetByMail?
Anything that will send a regular email can be used to update your twitter accounts. Outlook, webmail, PDA, or most any mobile phone with email features.
Can I use SMS text messaging?
Technically, no. Your tweet must be sent in the form of an email. However, most SMS text messaging services allow you to txt to either a mobile number OR an email address... that will work.
My tweet didn't work. What happened?
So you emailed in your update, but it didn't follow through to your Twitter page. Could be anything on a list of trouble.
- First, did you make sure that you sent it to the proper secret address for your account? The address should look like ACB123@tweetbymail.com
- Your email message may not have been read properly. (we're still working on compatibility with different formats) In this case, we should be able to look at the "bug report" and look into fixing this soon.
- Finally, it's quite possible that Twitter itself may be having connection trouble, and missed your tweet. (Hey, it's an incredibly popular, free service... so they do got overwhelmed sometimes!)
Are there limits to how many messages I can receive?
Free accounts are subject to email quota limits which should be more tha enough for most people. If you have a bigger appetitie for email, you can upgrade to remove the limit.
