Twitter on your mobile phone
TweetByMail originally started as a solution for Twitter not working with SMS (text messaging) outside the USA. It relies on one simple fact: most SMS-capable phones also use mobile email.
I'm not talking about Blackberries and iPhones with thier fancy email applications. I mean every phone. Even that cheap $50 dollar phone on the pay-as-you-go service. That will most likely work (great) with TweetByMail.
The easy way to figure out if your phone can do email is to try it. Go to send a regular text message, but where you would normally enter the phone number, type in your email address. Hit send and wait a minute.
Now check your email and (fingers crossed) you should have a new email message from your phone. The address will be something like 3215551234@mymobilecompany.com. Now try sending a regular email TO that address and it should pop up on your phone like any other text message.
If that all works, then you'll have no trouble using TweetByMail anywhere in the world. Just enter your phone's email address in your control panel.
