What's new about TweetByMail

We just launched a complete overhaul to the system as the original website was struggling to keep up! Here's a run down of some of the significant changes...

  1. TweetByMail will never again ask for your Twitter password. It's now using "Sign in with Twitter" authorization. More secure and flexible!
  2. By default, tweets and commands sent by email should be in the subject of the message (not the body). You can change this under your "Email Accounts" tab.
  3. Integrated with Twitter Lists to filter your updates.
  4. The option to batch messages (every 30 minutes, hour, 6 hours, etc) stops overflowing inboxes. It collects all tweets from that time period into one single message!
  5. Of course the single message (SMS style) option is still available
  6. There is a limit on emails that ca be sent with a free account. (500/week) That's enough to happily use, but it stops accounts from using more than their fair share of resources. (you can upgrade if you need more)

I think that covers the most important changes. If you run into any hiccups, don't hesitate to drop a note.

If you had an account on the old system, it is innaccesible. If you sign up on the new site with the same Twitter user, the old account will be disabled. If not, it will continue sending out updates (as per however you left it) during the "transfer period".
